The potential candidate will be expected to perform all tasks related to biological and materials sample analysis and routine maintenance for transmission and scanning electron microscopy.
The daily routine work involves collection, processing, sectioning and staining of biological and materials samples. This includes working with sample preparation techniques using both manual and automated approaches such as tissue processing system, ultramicrotomy, critical point drying, and particle coating system The candidates should be able to screen, interpret, analyze and report biological and material samples using transmission electron microscope (TEM), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). Perform routine maintenance such as filament cleaning, filament replacement and beam alignment. Perform administrative tasks such as sample log-in, preparing standard operating procedures, health and safety and quality control manuals. Train senior/junior staff, students and faculty on all aspects of electron microscopy. Participate in teaching and research work.
The candidate is expected to carryout out experiments, analyze data, prepare presentations, and manuscripts.
