Lecturer - MB/142/99 ex 2017/18

The Department of German Studies is looking for a

Lecturer

(20 hours a week; fixed-term employment for the period of 6 years; position to be filled as of October 1st 2018 )

Your duties

  • Teaching in the field of "German Language and Linguistics" for students of German in the Bachelor's and the Teacher Training's Programmes to the extent of 6 semester hours in the following fields: a) "German Linguistics" (holding the introductory lectures on German Linguistics and on Grammar of German, and of courses on German Linguistics/Modern German and/or Grammar and/or Pragmatics and Linguistics of Variation). b) "Practical German Studies" (e.g. Academic Research and Writing, Oral Communication, Rhetorics and Argumentation, Practical Writing, Professional Writing).
  • Conducting Bachelor-Seminars (in the Bachelor's programme of German) and BA-Seminars (in the Teacher Training's programme), including the supervision of Bachelor theses.
  • Organizing and holding exams, academic advising for students, and self-conducted research in the field of "German Linguistics".

Your profile

  • Degree in German Studies, and Doctorate degree
  • Proved pedagogical and didactic skills
  • Experience of teaching on University level in the named academic field
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Flexibility
  • being open for innovations
  • Willingness to take further training

Our offer

Classification

Salary scheme of the Universitäten-KV (University Collective Agreement): B1

Minimum salary

The minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement and according to the classification scheme is EUR 1855.60 gross/month. This minimum salary may be higher due to previous employment periods eligible for inclusion and other earnings and remunerations.
