Postdoctoral position in environmental and natural resource economics at the Department of Social Sciences, Södertörn University
Applications are welcome for a two-year postdoctoral position in environmental and natural resource economics. The position will be part of a dynamic and dedicated economics research group with a focus on environmental and sustainability issues. We work in national and international projects in cooperation with other economists, and social and natural scientists.
The position implies research on scientific analysis of economic policy instruments and institutions for efficient ecological compensation in the agricultural landscape. Ecological compensation is suggested as a tool to secure overall biodiversity when economic and social projects negatively affect biodiversity in connection with exploitation. The design of such policy instruments and institutions need to account for both ecological and economic risks, and their development over time. Ecological compensation is often suggested to be applied according to similar principles as emission trading schemes. The advertised position is funded by the Environmental Protection Agency within the framework of the research project ECOPAL (Ecological Compensation Pools in the Agricultural Landscape).
The position consists of research, combined with up to 20% administrative and general duties.
An applicant is considered to be eligible for the postdoctoral position if she or he has a doctoral degree in Economics, completed no more than three years before the application deadline.
