Sweden is a favourite destination for academics. Here's a breakdown of the most common Swedish academic jobs and their salaries.
The Department of Production Engineering (IIP) works techniques which mainly concern development of products, processes, systems and methods that have direct impact on this production. The area includes everything from engineering aspects of manufacturing to assembly of components for functional products and recycling issues associated with these disciplines. The department's staff and students come from all over the world and contribute to a very international environment. The Unit for Manufacturing & Metrology Systems (MMS) works with research, education and policy in the area of Circular Economy, with particular focus on manufacturing industry. The research projects are usually related to highly interdisciplinary areas, such as product design, (business) operations, supply chains and information and communication technology in manufacturing setting. Collaborative projects usually involve academics, public sector and industry partners. The KTH-ITM school has launched a major initiative focusing on circular economy (CE). One step in this initiative is the formation of a multidisciplinary research group focusing on the development of theoretical and applied concepts and solutions to promote the circular economy. Within the program, a number of post-doc positions have been created.
