Lecturer (tenure track) / associate professor Strategic Leadership, Corporate Governance & Entrepreneurship - Family Firms

Education task
You will lecture in the bachelor and master years of the faculty of Business Economics. The educational task is situated in the fields of Entrepreneurship/Governance/Strategy. Courses include Bedrijfskunde, Bedrijfsscan, Leadership and human capital. Vision, commitment and engagement with regard to education and the related courses is assumed.

Research mission
Within the research group Governance (GOV), you are supposed to engage in research on Governance (strategic change, boards of directors, Top Management Teams) and Entrepreneurship (Entrepreneurial Orientation, intentions & actions) in a private and family firm context in order to stimulate cooperation with other researchers of the research group GOV and the Research Center for Entrepreneurship and Family Firms (RCEF). RCEF focuses on several governance and entrepreneurship topics taking into account the specificity of the private and family firm context. You are assumed to publish in high-quality international scientific journals. You will also try to obtain funding to initiate new PhD projects.

Profile

  • You have obtained a PhD in Business Administration or Economics (or equivalent)
  • You have experience in teaching in the domain of Entrepreneurship and Strategy.
  • You have experience in research on Governance and/or Entrepreneurship in private and family firms. If not, you are willing to perform future research on this topic described above.
  • You have the necessary teaching, communication and organizational skills to provide excellent teaching.
  • You are engaged to obtain funding for research projects.
  • You have knowledge of the teaching language (Dutch and English). Native Dutch speakers should be willing to achieve C1 English. Non native speakers should be willing to learn the Dutch language (C1 Dutch is expected within 6 months).

Offer

We will offer either an appointment as a lecturer in the tenure track system during 5 years. This will lead to an immediate permanent contract as a senior lecturer, if the Board of Directors favorably assesses the party involved, based on previously set public grading criteria. Otherwise, we will offer a fulltime appointment as a lecturer or higher, which will lead to tenure. In case of a first appointment as a member of the academic staff, the Board of Directors of the University can decide on a temporary appointment for a period up to 3 years. This will lead to a permanent contract if the Board of Directors favorably assesses the party involved.
