PhD position in Pharmacoepidemiology

The research group of Prof. Dr. Andrea Burden in the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences at ETH Zurich is seeking applications for a
PhD position in Pharmacoepidemiology
The group of Prof. Burden conducts research that focuses on the methodological advancement in pharmacoepidemiology and the clinical applications to inform patient care, particularly within chronic inflammatory and musculoskeletal disease management. A primary area of research is examining multimorbidity within chronic inflammatory diseases, and the role within treatment safety and effectiveness. This includes developing new methods for determining multimorbidity using biobank and healthcare data. The individual research project will be determined based on the experience and interests of the successful candidate.
The successful candidate will have an MSc degree in pharmacoepidemiology, epidemiology, biostatistics or a related field. Additionally, the successful candidate will have strong scientific writing skills, have experience using statistical programming software (SAS, R or STATA) and be proficient in English (verbal and written). The individual should be highly motivated, capable of working independently in a growing team and be able to think critically about their research project.
