Doctoral Candidate or Postdoctoral Researcher position in Chemistry of Thermal Materials  

The research team studies novel materials and methods for thermal systems, including phase change materials (PCM), nanofluids and solid nanostructures for insulators. The research in the open position is placed in the development of long-term heat storage materials, such as our award-winning cold-crystallization PCM. Candidates interested in material development, as well as those interested purely in basic research are encouraged to apply the position.


The applicant needs to have a background in chemistry. She/he should have experience in experimental laboratory work and good knowledge on material characterization methods. The applicant is expected to have a strong drive towards excellence in science and have an ability for innovative thinking. Experience in thermophysical measurements is appreciated but not required.

For the postdoctoral position the applicant should also have

  • Doctoral degree in a relevant field. (Alternatively, proof that the applicant will have his/her doctoral thesis submitted before the start of the contract, is required).
  • Previous research experience in phase transitions or adsorption/desorption mechanism, preferably published in high quality scientific journals.

Duration and salary 

Current funding guarantees a two-year funding for a doctoral student and 18 months for a postdoctoral researcher. The extensions after that depend on available new funding. The contract is initially made for one year, followed by an extension subject to adequate performance. The salary is based on the salary system of Universities.
